"And Jesus answered him, saying, It is written, That man shall not live by bread ALONE, but by EVERY WORD OF GOD" (Luke 4:4).

In some cases, it might not be bread (food). It might be anything.

We live by every word of God, not necessarily those things. Although they are good, we do not get our life from them.

If those things (eg bread, etc) don't give God glory after it's done, then we shouldn't do them.

In this verse, the bread would give the devil glory. Whereas at the wedding in Canaan, the wine reflected God's word. It gave God glory!

Even though, the turning of stone to bread and water to wine seemed similar because both involved "turning something", Jesus resisted the urge to do the former because He knew that the end would not reflect God's word.

Brethren, even though something might look nice, discern through the Spirit, that which will give God glory in the end and do it!
