How I See You

11:56

"Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, THINK ON THESE THINGS." (Philippians 4:8)

This verse is wide, but I'd love to open our eyes to few things. Are we ready!

We were given what to be thinking about here, what we should fix our gaze and thoughts on. I'd only open our eyes to one of the things we need to note as Christians.

It's about how we see other people.

"Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more."
(2 Corinthians 5:16, KJV)

People knew Christ after the flesh, especially those of his place. You know what happened to those people? Jesus couldn't do great signs and wonders there. They didn't enjoy the benefit of a prophet, because they went about speaking less of him. Looking down on their Saviour! They were like, "is this not Joseph's son..."  (Verse)

They judged Him after the flesh!
If we go about looking down people, and judging by what our [carnal] eyes see in them, we might as well call God a liar!
God is a spirit, He doesn't see things the way man sees them. He's a Deep God. And if God calls that harlot beside you sanctified, you might have told it to God's face that He's a liar because you see a very dirty nonsense on her way to hell!
What God saw was exactly what Jesus saw in woman caught in adultery, do you remember that the Pharisees were condemning her already, Jesus could have joined them, but He instead, He freed her and said, "Go and sin no more" (Verse).

Listen, you can only preach and live by the gospel when you see things the way God sees them.

This is why our men of God would be speaking salvation, healing, deliverance etc into people's lives. They see what carnal eyes don't see. They see what Jesus has done.

People might be seeing the harlot on the street, you should be seeing someone Jesus has died for. This in itself would make you to be moved with compassion to tell her the goodnews, the things God has done for her through Christ!

She'd be living beside herself not to know and accept the truth about her! Jesus has saved her! She just need know the truth. You should help her to see the truth too.

But how is that possible if ALL you see/think about is on the wrong actions she took, what she didn't do well, and other negativities...

"(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations,) before him whom he believed, even God, who quickeneth the dead, and calleth those things which be not as though they were."
(Romans 4:17).

We are children of God right?
We should be like our Father too. Calling things that do not exist [to the physical eyes] as though they did. This is faith!

Abraham for instance, didn't think of the deadness of Sarah's womb but believed God's word. You should do that to people around you too. Don't think about their "state". For Sarah, it was menopause, for those people it could be their actions, health, etc. But we should only think of what God is saying about them!

Now, this is general for every man out there, God doesn't want the death of any man, but that everyone should be saved.

What should be on your mind is how to get them saved! And if they're saved but still manifesting works of the flesh, you should be after how they'd come to the knowledge of truth, how they'd go deeper in truth!

"Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:4)

You know what?

It is this truth that'd set them free [from those actions]!
Not the facts people gather about, like motivations and all. These may be temporal. But God's word has the BEST solution to every problem NO MATTER THE DEGREE! Did you see that?
No matter the degree!!!

What should be on our minds [concerning our fellow humans] should be what is on God's mind [concerning them].

Our minds should focus on how we'd get men saved and make them come into the knowledge of truth. Our minds shouldn't be focused on their wrongdoings, or what they didn't do well, etc. (Remember I said "focus", there's something "focus" does to our minds. That talk is for another time.)
The work would be easier when we choose to see them through the faith eyes and not by sight.

Some of our men of God had a very rough and dirty past. Who knows, maybe that dirty girl/boy you know might be a great man of God tomorrow. Paul (formerly Saul) even persecuted the saints, we know the end, and he became an apostle (To study about this, check Acts 9).

Focus on what is true about people. The truth is God's word!

Dig deep into God to know what He is saying about that fellow, and follow it!

★★★

I hope we're blessed!

I have a task for us:
Let us meditate on Philippians 4:8. We may start by meditating on the key words. We should know what God wants us to think about, right? So let's do it. After meditating on it, whatsoever God tells us, let's follow it

Thank you!
