We're too quick to say ''Deep'' anytime we hear something unusual and striking. Many times, we only get excited by the wisdom, the style of communication or the person communicating.

We never really ask if those words have positive effects in our lives.

Why hear ''deep words'' and yet live shallow lives?

In the parable of the sower, Jesus said:
"They on the rock are they, which, when they hear, receive the word with joy; and these have no root, which for a while believe, and in time of temptation fall away." (Luke 8:13, KJV)

Also, in one of Jesus' teachings, a woman jumped up with excitement and said, "blessed is the womb that conceived thee".
Jesus however responded, "Yea rather, blessed are they that hear the word of God, and keep it." (See Luke 11:27-28).

With this, Jesus was telling her that it is not about being excited for what He said, but obeying those words.

Believe in the word of God (receive it with joy) and continue to believe in it through obedience.

Grace to you!
