Happy new month!
It's our Month of Obtaining Help! (Hebrew 4:16)
Divine help shall come your way this month. God's mercy will speak for you and His grace will follow you everywhere you go.
You are blessed!
For our Bible Study Plan for this month, we will be looking at THE LAW OF SPIRITUAL ENGAGEMENT.
I repeat, "The Law of Spiritual Engagement."
Engaging in spiritual warfare is one of the most difficult tasks for believers. Though, by redemption, we've been armed with the ability to stand against all forms of vices from the kingdom of darkness, the lack of spiritual knowledge has made most believers victim of demonic and satanic oppressions.
"And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus:" (Ephesians 2:6)
Our positioning in heavenly places through redemption makes us to be far away from the reach of Satan.
We still fall victim of Satan's vices because we lack knowledge.
In the world system of becoming a soldier, one would have to go through series of trainings in order to be qualified or worthy of acceptance into the army. In the same vein, Christian soldiers ought to be equipped and learn the laws of spiritual engagement in order to win.
Believers are considered to be soldiers, therefore we need to be trained for proper spiritual engagement.
"Thou therefore endure hardness, as a good soldier of Jesus Christ," (2 Timothy 2:3)
How do we get equipped as Christian soldiers?
In this article, we will discuss one of the laws of spiritual engagement.
Let's look at THE LAW OF PERSISTENCE.
Luke 18:1-8, "And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man:
And there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary.
And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me.
And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.
And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them?
I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?"
Have you noticed how many people quit easily in their pursue of freedom from satanic oppression and afflictions?
Some people know that they need God to overcome the curse that has enslaved their generation for years and centuries. But in the process of engaging in the spiritual warfare, they quit so easily and stopped praying, forgetting that everything about spiritual warfare is worthy and capable of their deliverance.
In the above scripture, this woman kept coming to the unjust judge until she was able to convince him for help.
There is no problem that can not be taken care of by God if only you can wait more in the place of prayer. No matter how hard it looks or how long it has been, God will settle it. Tarry with Him.
Tarrying with God on an issue will result in God granting you victory. Your persistence in prayer is a law of spiritual engagement that will never fail. You may not see God if you can't wait a little longer on Him.
📍 Don't be in haste
Psalms 27:14, "Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD"
This Scripture admonishes us to wait and be of good courage. There are reasons why the statement "be of good courage" is mentioned.
It actually takes courage to keep coming to God on a matter you never know He would answer or not. Just like that woman in Luke 18, she kept coming despite the fact that she knew what kind of a judge she was meeting One faithful day, her persistence paid off.
We must be persistent in our coming to God for all requests, for at the end, He will strengthen us. This means that our desires will be granted.
For instance, you may be asking God for spiritual strength in prayer (depending on your request). You might probably have done a 3-day fasting and prayer. Because you don't see a change afterwards, you might think that God is not ready to answer you, and angrily leave.
If you did this, you have acted in haste and missed out on the blessing because of ignorance.
The longer you stay with God, the more power He bestows on you to stand your mountains.
Psalms 27:14
Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.
Psalms 40:1
I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
This is exactly what you need. Wait upon the lord! No matter how long, you will see Him changing your situation and turning things around for your good.
📍 The gain of persistence with God
Jesus Christ, in His dealing with men, do not only want to heal them, but to do something more important.
One of His major agenda is to see all men become like Him. He wants to release the sense of spiritual engagement He has to men. He wants men to have access to freedom that is extendable.
In other words, Christ wants His life in exchange with yours.
An exchanged life of Christ with yours is only possible on the level of prolong relationship.
If one comes to God and He delivers such from diseases and curses. Then, the person left without the life of Christ, such may still become a victim of that circumstance again.
The life of Christ is rooted in "power against", power against diseases, curses and other devil's vices.
Luke 11:23-26, "He that is not with me is against me: and he that gathereth not with me scattereth.
When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest; and finding none, he saith, I will return unto my house whence I came out.
And when he cometh, he findeth it swept and garnished.
Then goeth he, and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself; and they enter in, and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first."
Jesus makes it clear here that when one is not with Him (in relationship), such is against Him, and the deliverance is temporary.
This means that Satan can come again and make the latter end of that person worse than the former. This will not be your state. This is why it is important to persist in your stay with God.
Tarrying long is a law of spiritual engagement that position you to live in the exchanged life of Christ. Satan would naturally run away from you if you live this way.
2 Corinthians 3:18, "But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord."
You will be changed into the same image of God. The image here implies "spiritual content" contained in God. This is where permanent victory is guaranteed, permanent spiritual growth ensured.
Don't quit, God is not finished with you! Your voice must be heard in your generation as you persist in your search for God.
Here's the Bible Study Plan for the month:
Prayerfully study it. Remain blessed!
